Preposition

I. Put the following into Chinese

a) There is a bookstore nearby.

附近有一个书点

fùjìn yǒu yì ge shù diàn

b) Opposite the bus stop is the food court

食物中心在巴十站前边.

Shíwù zōngxīn zài bāshì qiánbiān.

c) Is the car you bought recently outside?

最近你买的新气车在外边吗?

Zuìjìn nǐ mǎi de xìn qì chē zài wàibiān ma?

d) who is in front of you?

在你的前边是谁?

Zài nǐ de qiánbiān shì shéi?

e) What building is it next to the post-office?

这个什么房屋在邮局的旁边?

Zhè ge shénme fángwū zài yóujú de pángbiān?

II. Oral Practice

a) Describe your residential area by yǒu (有) zài (在) and shì (是).

My house is nearby MRT station. It is also near Bus Station. It takes about five minutes on foot. There are many hawker centers nearby. There is one Malay hawker in front of my house. Primary School is two blocks away. Swimming pool is my house’s west side. So does the fitness centre. Opposite the swimming complex is an old Clementi Theatre. It is therefore my house is very convenient.

我家在地铁站附近.也在巴十站靠近. 步行五分钟左右就能到.在家旁边有很多食物 中心. 我家的前边是一个二十四小时的吗来反店.小学校是我家的两个房屋谣.在西边有一个游泳池. 也有一个云动场. 游泳池对面是一个老电影院. 说的后, 我家是很方便.

Wǒ jiā zài dìtiě zhǎn fùjīn. Yé zài bāshì zhàn kàojìn . Bùxíng wù fēnzhōng zuǒyòu jiù néng dào. zài jiā pángbiān yǒu hěn duò shí wù zhōngxīn. wǒ jiā de qiánbiān shì yī gè 24 xiǎo shī de Malay de fàn diān. Xiǎo xué xiào shì wǒ jiā liáng ge fáng wū yáo. zài xìbiān yǒu yì ge yóuyǒng chí. yé yǒu yì ge yùndòng chǎng. Yóuyǒng chí duìmiàn shì yī gè lǎo diànyǐng yuán. shōu de hòu, wǒ jiā shì hěn fāngbiàn.

b) Describe this map

A is on the east side, opposite C. B is on the west side opposite D. D is located on south west side, opposite B. C is located at South East side, next to D.

A 是在东边, 在C 的对面. B 是在西边, 在D 的对面. D是在西南边, 在B的对面. C 是在东南边, 在D 的对面.

A shì zài dōngbiān, zài C de duìmiàn. B shì zài xìbiān, zài D de duìmiàn. D shì zài xìnán biān, zài B de duìmiàn. C shì zài dòngnán biān, zài D de duìmiàn.
